As we head towards the Christmas holidays, I wanted to let you know about a change we made earlier this year to the way we manage staff tips throughout the year.
If you have attended a function or dinner recently, you may have noticed the absence of the traditional “tip glass” on the table. Earlier in the year we made the decision to move away from tipping by event, to an annual staff shared tip scheme (called a TRONC).
This is a more transparent and equitable way of handling tips and brings several benefits for our staff, including fairer distribution.
With the festive period approaching, this is the time of year when we traditionally show our appreciation for the hard work and dedication of our staff. All donations to the Christmas staff fund will be shared equitably, the scheme will cover not only the house staff, who traditionally benefit from tips, but also the greens staff and office staff (excluding the General Manager).
How much you choose to contribute is entirely up to you, but please consider the extent to which you have enjoyed the course, clubhouse and catering throughout the year.
To donate, please use the account details below with the reference TRONC. Please note this is not the main club account but a separate account for the TRONC.
Additionally, Mark Howell will run a separate collection for his team - who are not eligible for the TRONC. Please consider supporting this as well.
