Henley Golf Club
This member's club was founded in 1907 and is situated on the outskirts of Henley on Thames, in the village of Harpsden, just off the A4155 Reading to Henley road.
If your guests are arriving from the direction of Marlow, Oxford or Maidenhead, they should ensure they allow sufficient time during the morning "rush hour", as Henley Bridge is one of the main crossing points of the River Thames and delays sometimes occur. Click here to download a map.
The course now benefits from a full irrigation system covering greens, tees and fairways and is recognised as one of the best in the area. It was designed by James Braid, five times Open Champion, whose many other courses included Carnoustie, Ganton, Gleneagles, Royal Troon, St Enodoc and Royal Liverpool (Hoylake). The opening first four holes are considered a tough start by all our visitors and the player who completes them in one or two over par may be your eventual winner. Six par threes, two of them over 200 yards, four par fours over 400 yards, four par fives and four par fours of 269 yards to 379 yards make up the 18 holes. The course measures 6064 yards from the Yellow tees and has a Par and SSS of 70.
