New this year we have recruited over fifty ladies who, under the tuition of our professional staff take absolute beginners and ladies returning to golf through a structured program of one hour modules run over three terms. Each module is repeated three times a week. The first on a week-day morning, the second on a week-day evening and thirdly one at the week-end. This flexibility together with the modest fees charged will enable all those interested to enrol. On completion of the modules, which includes on-course teaching, Academy Members will be presented with a golf pass certificate enabling them to progress to other categories of membership.

Membership places are subject to availability and our subscription year runs from January to December, charged pro rata depending on month joined.

Ladies Section

Our ladies section is currently 100 strong. Competitive or fun golf takes place on most Tuesday mornings through the year in addition to numerous smaller competitions at weekends for ladies who are unable to play on Tuesdays.

This friendly section has a thriving social element and is a great place to make new friends for those new to the area.

Joe Templer, 'I can't believe the feedback we got from the ladies academy. The 2 groups we had booked in were filled up in the first week, and since then we've had to add another 6 groups of 11 which have all been filled except 2 spaces on a Saturday morning from 10-11'

Juniors Section

The Club was awarded Golfmark accreditation in 2010 in recognition of the outstanding work in introducing young people to the game of golf. We have links with 5 schools and provide coaching in a friendly and fun environment to juniors of all ages and ability level.

Numbering approximately 50, the section boasts has a reputation for developing young talent. Two of our fold have recently begun studying at universities in the United States on golf scholarships. In a bid to further encourage local junior golfers we are reducing our subscriptions for juniors in 2011 to £150.

James is running junior group coaching on the weekends for boys and girls of all golfing ability for ages 7-15 years. Although the course has already started, there are still a few spaces left on Saturday mornings from 09.00-10.00.

Men's Academy

The academy is aimed at men who wish to learn to play golf and will run from May 2011. Full details are in the attached brochure above.
